The Alcmaeon project: conceptualisation and implementation in Italy (E4)

Description

12 participants were involved from different medical settings in Rome and from psychological societies. We had the possibility to involve doctors, students and teachers in medical humanities from different realities, working with elderly patients, adults or teaching.

Maria Caporale is Professor of Human Science and Bio-law at the Department of Surgical and Medical Sciences and Translational Medicine, Sapienza University of Rome. Her research interests are the right to health, communication in Medicine, doctor-patient relationship, the informed consent of minors in Medicine, dilemmas of contemporary ethics, the end of life and the advance treatment guidelines at the end of life, the living will and persons without the capacity to consent, the informed consent to the use of biological samples by bio-banks, the right to property on biological samples, the right to privacy, Ethics of medical research, the rules in scientific research.

Stefano Eleuteri is psychologist, Lecturer in Psychology and Education at the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, Sapienza University of Rome. His research interest are the communication, doctor-patient relationship, the psychosexual development, the end of life and the advance treatment guidelines at the end of life, the caregiving process in the elderly people. The contents of the multiplier event was connected to the results of the project

Participants showed interest towards the project and were interested to implement its use in their own contexts
