Label
Gr. T. Popa entitles his conference „Thomas Woodrow Wilson and the Ideal of an Understanding Between Peoples”. During this broadcast, he speaks about President Wilsons’s character which he exemplifies using quotes from John Maynard Keynes and G.K. Chesterton which portray Wilson as ”a theorist inspired by high human tendencies but with no experience in the practical world”. Popa then proceeds to analyze President Wilsons’s exploits from the point of view of the latter’s political and human ideals which he also shares. He believes that Wilson’s ideals coincide not only with Romanian ideals but also with the world’s ideals and desires. Therefore, he concludes with “But they are all fleeting, except for the ideas of justice and freedom that are reborn just when they seem to be forgotten. Even today, Wilson's ideas, being based on what is natural, return to the present with new force and begin again to guide those who will once again try to fix the destiny of mankind.”
